The Cutting Edge by Linda Howard

emotional tense fast-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

3.0

FMC (Tessa): 3.5 (she should have made him crawl but I liked her strong sense of self and her positive portrayal as a “flirt”)
MMC (Brett): 3 (Howard has a type lmao - at least he was going to marry her and save her from prison even before he realized she was innocent. Wanted him to grovel more vs just telling her how it was. He needed to suffer 😏)
💕: 3.25 (I mean they had chemistry and understood each other but it was tempestuous to say the least lol)
Plot: 3 (so much potential - I love a betrayal plot, but it’s all wrapped up way too quickly and neatly. The fact that they didn’t send the actual culprit to prison is a crime…literally! If it was a man I feel it would have been different)
🌶️: 3
