Vulture by Bex Hogan

I'm a little disappointed with this final book. It felt SO rushed and tried to cram in as many action scenes and shocking moments as possible. I was left wanting some calmer scenes where I could get some connection with the characters.
In the first book I found it brave that Bex Hogan wasn't afraid to kill off main or loved characters. It was taken WAY too far in this book and just created more of a disconnect for me rather than evoking emotion.
The battle scenes, especially at the end were really lacking any atmosphere and tension for me. My favourite fights were those at sea as I think the weather and water added more excitement and tension.
I also felt that not enough time was taken for after the final battle. The end came too quickly and I would have liked to have seen their lives afterwards rather than just be told about what was going to happen. I felt a little cheated!
Overall, I really liked the characters but sadly wasn't given enough time with them so I didn't feel overly connected to them. Marianne, the lead female annoyed me in this book. I thought her actions were quite naive and felt her character had regressed rather than grown.

My favourite aspects were the quieter scenes but these were so short and few in number. I also loved the magical creatures such as the snow mares, water horses, sea creatures and the wonderful vulture Talon who I adored.

Overall a good series (I Gave the first 2 books 4 stars) but I found this book really let the others down.
