These are three novellas, each from a different character's perspective. These need to be read after Graevale, or there will be major spoilers and confusion. My comments below also contain spoilers for Graevale, but not for this book so I didn't hide them with spoiler tags.

First story is from DC's point of view, and starts when she is a kid. It gives us history as to why she's so hostile when we meet her in Akarnae.

Second was Jordan's, covering from after he was released from Aven's Claim. It covered his healing process and what he went through under Aven's control.

Last was Bear's, covering from when he broke his leg to the end of Graevale.

It was nice to see scenes from the other character's eyes, and get some other information and storyline that we wouldn't get since the rest of the series is from Alex's perspective. However, these weren't as good as the three books before it. Part of that is they wouldn't have the same kind of compelling, complete storyline the others do, but also there were just some inconsistencies that aren't found in the main books.

They're minor (like the land east of Akarnae, the timezone is behind in DC's story but ahead in Bear's), but noticeable enough for my detail-retaining self. These stories just didn't seem as polished as the other ones, and sometimes the character's reasonings didn't make sense.

Still worth the read though, especially while Graevale is fresh since all but DC's story is happening during the timeline of this book.
