Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead by Sara Gran
4.0
An excellent intro to a fascinating new female detective - one who is darkly interesting and as flawed as she needs to be.
I thoroughly enjoyed the setting of New Orleans after the inundation, and the locals are drawn compassionately, but I found the quoted phrases from the celebrated Silette to be mostly meaningless drivel.
However, I'm looking forward to the next outing with Ms DeWitt.
