Bloodmarked , by Tracy Deonn

3.0

Although I did enjoy Bloodmarked, I cannot say that I enjoyed it as much as Legendborn. While reading Bloodmarked, I was quite surprised that this wasn't going to be an easy 5 stars like I thought it would be. For this series to be about Bree, I was disappointed that she was sidelined in this book. She and other characters just felt flat in comparison to the last book.

This book also felt more like a quest/journey book, perhaps because they set out to find Nick, and I have grown a bit tired of the trope. I also must say that the book was unnecessarily long, especially since not much happens until the second-half of the book. I do think some of Bree's repetitive silly choices could have been cut down a bit, such as reduce the instances she endangered her life in the first half of the book. I also simply do not like how the book ended.

All in all, i just think Bloodmarked suffers from second book syndrome, but I will continue the series in hopes that this book was just a fluke.
