Orosz napló - Robert Capa 70 fotójával by John Steinbeck

4.0

I think John Steinbeck talks about "the people" really well. The way he describes farmers, villagers and migrants shows that he at least romanticizes these men. So he's perfect for a trip to the Soviet Union to see how "the people" lived.

Even though he runs into many trouble, he does keep his promise and tries to paint the people in good light, while staying away from politics. The focus is on people live, with plays, parties, and work. He tells stories about the troubles they run into, and comments on his travel partner. All in all, very good book.
