This book sort of dragged on and didn’t really feel scary to me, though it was enjoyable. I liked the inner voice of the main character. Though about the ending/reveal..
the whole idea that the people of the town had been set up to destroy it was crazy to me. It would’ve fit in if there were actual ghosts in the house, but instead it was revealed there were real people inside. I think the idea of real people “haunting” the house could’ve been terrifying, but it adds a sense of realism that doesn’t fit in with the whole “evil villains are controlling the town” idea. It had a lot of potential with the twist that the “ghosts” were actual real people, but I feel like it didn’t meet that potential.
