Fool's Assassin by Robin Hobb

5.0

4.75 stars. I was dismayed at the plot's dependence on mistakes that I could not imagine Fitz making with the kind of history he's experienced. But more importantly, I had forgotten how wrenching a FitzChivalry book could be. I'm half-afraid to read the next book, because if Robin Hobb can do this to her characters in the first book of a trilogy, I shudder to think of what sacrifices they'll be forced to make in the coming novels (and how long I'll have to wait to see them make those sacrifices).
