I had kind of a mixed reaction to this book. On one hand, it was a unique, exciting, and fast-paced storyline. I liked the main character, Natasha, and her fierce protectiveness for her children as well as her strong desire to stand up against evil. Her best friend was a hoot and added some fun humor to the story.
On the other hand, however, I was conflicted about the relationships Natasha had with each of the three men in the story. None of them really felt realistic to me. The villain, Alex, was pretty terrifying so it was hard to accept some of her reactions to him. Her ex-husband was frustrating to me and the detective seemed to overstep professional bounds a bit. It also seemed like Alex’s ability to thwart the police at every turn was a bit unrealistic. But the story was pretty non-stop action and I’m intrigued to see what happens with several of the characters in the next book!
I received an e-book version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
