Happenstance by Jamie McGuire

Jamie McGuire actually made a decent set of characters. Wow!

I was one of those raging readers when I finished Beautiful Disaster. There wasn't a single thing that I liked. I don't even know how I endured until the end. Must be my masochistic side.

Now, this one.. It got me intrigued. From the beautiful cover to the interesting blurb. And I never tried Novellas before. So, why not? Anyway, the story revolves around one of the three Erins in this school called Blackwell High. The other 2 are bullies and she's, of course, the bullied.

You know one thing about this story? It's predictable. I'm not even halfway through, I already know what's going to happen. Also, McGuire did a very stupid twist in near end. It's so laughable. I mean, it's not even necessary and it's so obvious that it wasn't well thought. The characters are a big fat MEH. They're decent (if you read BD, you'll know what I mean) but boring. Erin's a robot. Maybe it's her situation that made her like that, but I didn't even connect with her even a bit. Weston, well, you can say that he's a swoon worthy. He's waaaaay better than Travis so extra point for that. But like Erin, he's also a blank character.

All in all, Happenstance is a very boring but OKAY read. *insert yawnface*
