I enjoyed this book. I liked the story overall and thought it was interesting to learn more about the early history of Panem.

The book is divided into three parts. The transition from part two to part three did not make me feel as excited for part three compared to the others. I liked that there are more side characters, but sometimes it was difficult for me to keep track of who was who because there were several.

One thing I didn't like about this book was the names of several characters.... I felt like they didn't mesh or stick with me. Examples: Coriolanus, Lucy Gray Baird, Lysistrata, Fabricia. I think part of it has to do with that the names have so many syllables? I'm not sure.

Another thing is this book didn't really "hit me" like the original trilogy. What I mean by this is I never got so excited that I felt like I couldn't put down the book. I also never got super invested in characters.

Overall, I DID enjoy this book! I liked that there were more characters. I liked the background of Snow and the history of Panem. I also enjoyed that this story was a longer read. I remember reading "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire" wishing there had been more.

Lastly, I LOVED the use of song/music in this book. It made me happy and I really enjoyed the scenes with the band.
