The Good Immigrant by Nikesh Shukla

5.0

Wow. I was just blown away by how relatable every single one of these stories was. I laughed, cried and seethed along with the authors at their experiences of racism and the whole experience of being a (second generation) immigrant in a white country. While reading I remembered all these little pockets of experiences and thoughts I had while growing up in the Netherlands as a brown person that I had put away in my head somewhere because I felt so lonely in having them. This book made me feel like I am not alone in a way nothing else ever has.
