“It was Christmas Eve. They were taking a sleigh ride in the snow, and nobody could overhear them”

Emilia & Garet

After a chance meeting at an inn, days before Christmas, Emilia & Garet forget about their identies and enjoy the night. She is off to become a governess and he is returning to his sisters for the festive season. Maybe chance will have them meeting again.

“Every time he found her. Across the fire, through the snow, over the crow.”

|Thoughts|
Now, this was just so damn cute. It’s exactly the light, fluffy Christmas story to get you to feel all the feels.

Garrett is just so sweet and innocent in a lot of ways. The tension that is built between these two was such a joy to read.

“You have me breaking quills…forgetting you is an expensive habit”.

Loves that it’s set at Aldworth Park, as a sequel to A Rouge of One’s Own. So we get to see all the characters we fell in love with in that love story.

“Because that laughter was dreadfully, fantastically familiar. Slowly, slowly, he stepped into the candlelit dining room. Impossible. She was here.”

“Gavin, I’m alright. Stop this. You’re going to disturb everyone”
“I don’t care about everyone. I care about you”

“He held her flush to his chest, and his chest no longer hurt”
