Behind You by Jacqueline Woodson

4.0

This was almost as good as the first one. The characters are grieving and dealing with the aftermath of Jeremiah's death. The grieving process that is shown is gorgeously written and is so powerful. This book not only talked about grief in a real way, but it delved into talk of self-discovery and coming to terms with your sexuality. This was a book about inclusivity and where to find it when life seems to stop in its tracks. Finding the group that will hold you together when you need it the most.

This is a story about grief, self-discovery, and how to move on without forgetting.
