Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

5.0

I literally freaking love this book, and I wasn't expect it AT ALL. I just chose this to read because it sounded fun and I liked the cover ... and I ended up hooked! I read this awhile ago but didn't get a chance to review it until now!
After reading her debut novel too, I can totally see her improvement! My biggest issue in the first book was pacing and clarity, and these were very consistent here. Elisabeth is an inspiring yet relatable main character, and Nathaniel literally has me kicking my feet. He's so witty and funny. SILAS!!!! That's all I have to say. So basically the characters are amazing and I love them all.
The plot line was so so interesting, and it hooked me. It was definitely slower to start as it's setting the scene, but by the 30% mark you're really into it. And as readers, we can all appreciate the library and book setting. It made me feel heard, in a way.
Can we have a moment for the ending?? Because I literally couldn't freaking believe that it ended like that? I laid in my bed and stared at my ceiling before I realized that there's a NOVELLA! Before we get to that, the ending was everything I needed but left me wanting so much more. Give me an entire 15 book series in this world following these people please and thank you.
