Dragonvein - Book One by Brian D. Anderson

3.0

I was baited in by the premise: WWII Airborne soldier gets transported to a world with dragons. Sounds fun! But alas. I've been spoiled by better books about soldiers and dragons. The characters had such potential only to fall flat. Kat especially. She started out a badass and transitioned to a love-struck juvenile. The author eludes to richer, fuller backstories for some of the characters, and maybe those stories eventually get told in subsequent volumes. I'm not hooked enough to bother to find out though. 2.5 stars, rounded to 3 because the narrator was fantastic.
