The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson
5.0
This was great - and is especially good as an audiobook due to the multiple narrators (especially for the podcast sections). I had followed Jackson's promotion talking about how this is inspired by her love of Carrie, and while I haven't read or watched it, I absolutely loved this, even though it was really heavy and dark in some places. I don't want to spoil anything but I highly recommend - also if you're not really a horror person, this still works; there's no hauntings or ghosts, and while there is violence, it's not worse than anything that is in a standard action movie. It's really good, and I especially recommend the audiobook.
I ABSOLUTELY HATED JULES, and I have questions about why she is the second sole survivor, and it's realistic that this only makes Jules MORE racist, but I just absolutely hated her and I hope no one believes her
