Anything but a Gentleman by Elisa Braden

3.0

This novel had a strong basis and some nice moments between the main couple and the secondary characters. This book was a slow burn. No, not just because of when they finally did the deed, but the affection and warmth between the main characters came later in the book. For example, it was still a while after he stopped avoiding Augusta (he didn't want to want her) when he finally started calling her by her pet name. There just weren't enough scenes and dialogue between Augusta and Sebastian for me.

Even though the book had
Spoilertwo romances/HEAs plus justice for Augusta's sister happening simultaneously
, I still didn't get a 4-star experience.

After reading this and [b:Twelve Nights as His Mistress|33118761|Twelve Nights as His Mistress (Rescued from Ruin, #5.5)|Elisa Braden|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1480016053l/33118761._SY75_.jpg|53785373] from the "Rescued from Ruin" series, I'm not sufficiently curious to go back and read all the other books, even with the cameos of the other characters in this book. I came this series after I finished [b:The Temptation of a Highlander|59547627|The Temptation of a Highlander (Midnight in Scotland, #3)|Elisa Braden|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1636150771l/59547627._SY75_.jpg|93784846] from the "Midnight in Scotland" series. I bring all that up to say that I can tell [a:Elisa Braden|11977191|Elisa Braden|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1449222747p2/11977191.jpg]'s sword gets sharper with each book. Each subsequent novel is better. Can't wait to read more from her!
