It took me a while to figure out how this book fit with the TV show. Here is how I take it. Richard Castle on the show wrote books that made him famous. These Derrick Storm books are the books that the TV character wrote before the show started.

So Derrick Storm is a spy. Written by Richard Castle.

Jamison Rook is a journalist who teams up with Nikki Heat. Written by Richard Castle.

Enjoyable once I realized that Derrick Storm wasn't some fiction of the Castle character.
