I had wanted to read this sequel for a while. It's the reason I reread the first in the series, I wanted to remember what was going on. I was slightly disappointed. I understand why Emily kept being brought up but I was over it. The relationship between Ash and November was wild to me, they basically just met and their connection was already what it was. I think what happened to Ines at the end was unnecessary, it did not carry the weight that I think was hoped for. I did like the twist about the Ferryman at the end that was quite fun and surprising. I didn't understand what was happening between Aarya and Jag and with all the big cat imagery with the "rawrs" and "slashing fingers like a big cat" it was either very heavy handed or unnecessary (honestly maybe both?). Matteo's sudden come around at the end felt off and like things just wanted to be tied up in a nice little bow. Still, I was engaged in this book and enjoyed the world building and the adventures storyline.
