This is definitely a slow burn series. While there is plenty to the plot, it doesn’t really move quickly. While reading it, you feel like not much has transpired, & yet so much has all at the same time. Auren spends the majority of this book held prisoner in a traveling camp, but here she learns so much about herself & her capabilities, here she learns to question everything. Malinda’s plot to overthrow is still unraveling. Midas’s plans are not working out the way he expected…. It’s all leading to another book! 🫢 

And these might be some of the quickest reads ever. Not exactly a thin novel, I manage to finish them in 24-48 hours….
