Devious Lies by Parker S. Huntington
2.0
i feel like parker s. huntington's care for detail deserves to be praised, but other than this there's really nothing good i can say about “devious lies”. and i admit this with a heavy heart, because i know the potential was there. it just never came to fruition, despite the book being so unnecessarily long—which implies, of course, that there would have been plenty of time for this to happen.
speaking of, i think my biggest problem with this story is how it's paced. i stand by my idea that “devious lies” could have been much more shorter, because most of the book felt like dragging with no damn good purpose—and that was annoying, let me just tell you that. so unbelievably annoying.
i didn't ever really get into the romance either, which was kind of the point. lol. and i also couldn't care less about the side characters—except for, maybe, reed and basil. i would like to read about them, probably. but delilah and... what was his name? kingston? nah. i'm good!
so, yeah. safe to say this was a plot. i'm only giving it two stars because i loved how curated everything was, but the story per se deserves way less...
