Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo
dark
3.0
I had to force myself to finish this. Which is wild because this book has all of the components of something I love: discussion of corrupt powers, supernatural elements, murder, disgusting rituals, morally gray characters. So, it really is impressive that it fell flat I guess. And, I enjoyed the first novel, but good lord this one was a drag.
The dialogue was entertaining at times, and the writing was obviously done with skill. But, I found so many of the plot decisions and vibes to be weird and not in a fun way (as weird is normally my bread and butter). I wasn't invested in the plot or most of the characters, and I know Leigh Bardugo can write compelling characters and relationships, so that's what makes it that much more disappointing
