The Flaw in All Magic by Ben S. Dobson
4.0
It was a decent read for me.
I will say that I found myself more interested in the backstory for the characters than the actual plot of the book, but it did a great job at showing character dynamics and such.
The plot was fairly simple and straightforward, one of the things I liked about it was that I was able to guess who the culprit was a little earlier than the characters did. That was fun!
I think I’m going to be treating this book as more of a standalone novel than part of a series; the ending is satisfactory for me and I’m not invested enough the characters to continue.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read, just not one that I’ll be coming back to.
Content warnings: There are some implicative statements in there, so it’s not as clean (romance wise) as I’d like for it to be, but nothing happened on screen at all.
Some swearing, but not enough that I wasn’t able to censor them myself.
Violence is about what you’d expect for a book like this, there wasn’t anything overly bloody, gory, or brutal, so I’d say it’s alright.
