Full disclosure I have not read the Dark Kings series and I was able to enjoy this book as a Standalone. My first introduction to this world was the novella Dragon Night and I loved it! This book is full of chemistry and intrigue. Gemma and Cináed are an amazing couple they have a spark from the first meeting. The mystery in this book sucks you in from page one, it is full of intrigue and magic. The descriptions of atmosphere and plot will make you feel like you are there in Scotland! There is a non stop plot that will have you turning each page not wanting it to end! I loved this book and will be checking out the rest of the series ASAP!
