I was hoping this final volume would wrap the story up in a more satisfying way than the film did (considering how much extra detail the manga has) but unfortunately it just wasn't for me :( it started out well enough, but the story lost focus very quickly and everything felt so scattered and dragged out by the time I got to the halfway mark of this volume. so much time was spent exploring side character plots that previously-established plots, such as a specific one regarding shoya and shoko at the end of volume three, were left unresolved - ordinarily, I wouldn't mind these side character plots provided that they weren't explored at the expense of previously-established plots, which was definitely the case here.
overall, do I prefer the manga over the film? it honestly depends. while the actual content of the manga was better than that of the film, I wasn't as disappointed by the film's conclusion as I was by that of the manga.
