The plot's better than the first but my annoyance level is also higher. I'll start with the bad part. These are educated people, they're librarians. The fact that they don't seem to know the difference between "can" and "may" is extremely annoying, as that problem repeatedly crops up in the story. There are other grammar issues that compound the annoyance. If the author and editors aren't literate, they need to get some help to make the characters sound real.

The story is better. Of course, today, all mystery characters need a pet and this is no different. Fortunately, the dog isn't overwritten as in many series. Lindsey and the team are getting ready for a library book sale event, a major winter storm hits, and there's murder (I know, shocked, 'eh?). This story is more consistently logical than the first and the relationship with Sully moves forward.

The only other issue is the one with all romance books, you automatically know which suitor is the bad guy.
