Judah has had to return home and give up his promising ballet career after unexpectedly being diagnosed with a chronic illness that affects his balance, amongst other things. He is utterly heartbroken about losing the career he worked so hard for that got him out of the  town he doesn't have good memories of, so he holds a lot of resentment for having to back. To say he and his brother Leroy don't get along is a smidge of an understatement, and at times, I seriously disliked Leroy's character.

It's while being back home and trying to come to terms with his new reality that Judah meets Morgan. Morgan moved to town 5 years ago in an effort to help him move on and start a new life after the death of his wife. Morgan has always known he is Bisexual and has had experiences with men in the past but nothing more than hookups, he truly loved his late wife and hasn't been able to envisage himself moving on with anyone be that male or female... till he meets Judah. The banter and spark between these two was on point from the moment they met for me, I really enjoyed the relationship development between these two and how Judah living with a chronic illness was handled, it was realistic and honest in how it was approached and it is always great to see disabilities & chronic illnesses represented in books.

This book has the wonderfully witty humour I've come to expect from Jay Hogan, and the spice was delicious as always. Gary Furlong once again knocks it out of the park with his delivery of the banter, and he is fantastic at giving characters like Judah the sass they are meant to have. A thouroughly enjoyable listen that made me laugh and gave me warm fuzzy feelings too. 🌶🌶
