Death of a Perfect Wife by M.C. Beaton
5.0
This is my very favorite Hamish MacBeth yet. I feel the author Beaton hadn’t flushed out why Hamish was going to stay a local bobby in previous books. The first one mentioned an obligation to stay single and send home money to his family until the next oldest sibling could provide. Then we stopped hearing about that and started hearing about how he liked to be lazy. But in this book, we have a solid understanding about Hamish. He is happy. Content. This coincides with him getting over being lovesick which allows him to be happy and content.
I just thoroughly enjoyed this one. Right down to the little details. Hamish is kind and solid person and that really shined in this book.
