Inheritance by Christopher Paolini

I revisit this series every so often from a nostalgic perspective, and every time I am pretty disappointed by this ending. It's too long, padded out with a lot of profoundly uninteresting fight sequences, whilst somehow not having enough time for the interesting things - like Arya becoming a Dragon Rider, or Eragon establishing a whole new home for the dragons. I get that those points are part of the story after the defeat of the enemy, but, there certainly are a lot of pages after that with room for it.
I also find that Eragon is simply too powerful to be relatable or entertaining by this book, and honestly not only in this one, which is one of his reasons for leaving at the end but makes the rest of the events profoundly less exciting.
