J is for Judgment by Sue Grafton

The vast majority of the time I work remotely, and I am trying to picture what it would be like if I lit up a cigarette during a meeting. I mean, technically, no one could complain because the smoke isn't in their workplace. But the culture around smoking has changed so drastically that I cannot imagine the outcry over one little Virginia Slims, or Eve 100.
(Remember when they used to make cigarettes for the ladies? That was a weird time.)
(ETA: Good lord, they still do. COME ON.)
A twisty little plot I enjoyed immensely, even while perhaps rolling my eyes at some of the shenanigans all the non-Kinsey characters get up to. The ending uh, I'm not sure I buy entirely, but I enjoyed the smooth heck out of it and I truly did not see it coming in the least.
