Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

I understand the hate from ten (?) years ago now - the stalking is creepy, the power dynamic is creepy, and Meyer seems to plop in SAT words every so often to make Edward sound intelligent (Does anyone else remember the SAT words Twilight study guide? I still can't believe that existed). Edward even comments on the fact that Bella should be creeped out by his behavior, and ?????????? nothing comes of it.
If a romantic partner says they're bad for you, LISTEN to them and leave.
Also, I love the additional insight into the Cullen family relationships (new appreciation for Carlisle, give him a solo book!), except for the Rosalie/Esme slander. You'd expect that a woman would be able to write 3-dimensional female characters w/o resorting to tropes.
This book also has no business being this long
