A very challenging read that I did not want to put down. Being inside Vanessa’s head was was overwhelming. Seeing the manipulation and abuse through her eyes and then processing it on my own and being able to identify it all while she couldn’t made for a tough read.
And I appreciated it ending in a way that sort of left me demanding more closure. It felt very real.
The writing was so poignant and immersive, I have to applaud the author on a brilliant debut novel.
