The Mystery of Marie Rogêt by Edgar Allan Poe
1.0
(Spoilers for "Murders In The Rue Morgue")
Of the 24 Poe short stories I have read, this one is easily the worst. Whereas "Murders In The Rue Morgue" painted a captivating picture of the crime scene, leading to an interesting confrontation at the end of the story, "The Mystery of Marie Roget" drones on as a critical analysis of three different crime scenes. Makes for an interesting use of logic and argumentation, but terrible literature.
