Visually it’s an absolute stunner and that alone makes it a worthwhile read. As a story though I’m a lot more mixed. For most of the book it’s a series of various horrors but there’s not really any sort of story happening until the end. For the most part it borderline feels monster-of-the-week in its approach. The last fourth is where some sort of narrative begins to form and honestly that was my favorite part. But it’s over just as I’m starting to really get into it and the conclusion left something to be desired.
Again though, it’s visually immaculate and that alone makes it worth the read. I just didn’t get much more out of it than that.
