“i don’t know what the hell i think i’m doing, but whenever i’m around her, all i can think about is how much more i want to be around her.”
i’ve been in a major reading slump, and this book helped me get through it. the story follows sloan, a woman trapped in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, asa. but her world turned upside down when she meets carter, a man who has secrets of his own.
first of all, i have mixed feelings with this book. it was good, the plot seems very well thought-of and the element of suspense was great. the characters’ personalities also contributed to the beauty of the whole story. i actually felt sad for the fmc’s situation and her boyfriend made me so furious—he was so fucked up in the head. on the other hand, my favorite character in the story was carter—the mmc. i really like the idea of him being a knight-in-shining armor for the fmc.
to be honest, there are some dull moments and i was a little bit confused about the story at first, and it was kind of slow for me, but it was interesting at the same time. i also did not see the plot twist coming.
if you’re looking for a book with a touch of drama and suspense, you should give this book a try.
