I didn't realize I was getting into a very very VERY slow burn book with little to no spice. i felt I was just reading a YA book, not an adult book as it states. I also didn't know it was a fantasy story as well lol. I assumed it was modern/contemporary, though I'm not mad at it.

I wouldn't consider a romance book because there was little to none of any hint of romance. Was there tension? Very little, but it wasn't tension of "I have to have you now" or "I hate this person so much, I need to fuck them"

Reason why I felt it was a YA book because of how small emotions the characters were feeling, as if they were learning what they were feeling.

I don't mind miscommunication tropes, though it has to be done in a way it felt like it was needed. This one wasn't needed.

I'm giving this a higher rating because remaining 20 minutes did get me good, to where I now HAVE to read the 2nd book. I just need to know what happens that's really it lol.
