The Hunt by L.J. Smith
3.0
3.5 stars.
It is a good book, but I can't really enjoy it the way I would due to its "magic". I was expecting more elaborate spells and styles of magic but almost everything in the book is as if someone is reading from a bad copy of the book of shadows of their wiccan friend.
Other than the fact that the spells are extremely simplistic, to the point that seem childish "example calling to mother earth and the moon to beat a baddie), the author doesn't even put the effort to make them sound like and at least rhyme! Just random words as if it is a speech.
And another magic related thing that puts me off, is that the spells that are in Latin, are so bad, as if the author used google translate or a bad dictionary to write them.
Still a good read, but I have a feeling that the Author should focus on crime and mystery books instead of fantasy/magic.
