I was really into the contemporary elements of this book, but the mystery didn't appeal to me as much. I figured out what was happening fairly early, and then it was just a matter of when the characters would catch on. Which was really frustrating when they were being (to me, obviously) misled.
That said, I really liked seeing the crisis of faith that's so common in white literature play out in a novel about American Indians. The justice system things were also really well done, and I felt like I had learned so much.
