Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks

2.0

I have never seen the movie and decided to go on a Nicholas Sparks reading frenzy... This is one of my least favorite of his books. I actually do not mind when the main characters do not get their HEA. That is not the part that bothers me.....

Spoilers may follow.... Read at your own risk.

The part that bothers me is how she goes about finding this man, the details she knows about him before meeting him.... is stalkerish and there is nothing you can say that convinces me it is not. This woman would be deemed mentally unstable and if it was a man who found her how she found him. If a man "connected" with her articles and looked up her information, found out where she was from and flew out to meet her before making contact to see if it would be welcomed.. well i'd hope she would get a restraining order.

As far as the MMC, take away the fact that she is a psycho which he does find out, it's absolutely absurd that he is mad that she will not uplift her and her sons life to move states.

Overall, annoying. She should have told him, he shouldn't have expected her to move. She shouldn't have expected him to be able to "move on" from his dead wife. She will always hold a spot in his heart and she is not competing for anyone.

Both of these souls were fighting at every turn, wanting to be in love but finding excuses to make it fail.
