The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

5.0

It was beautiful and terrible. It was the memories of a child who made childish choices not understanding the consequences of his actions. But the choices were brought on by a parent who was too hard and had big secrets of his own that affected his child(ren) in ways he didn't expect. And about the adult who grows out of childhood but carries the scars of those bad choices unable to forget or forgive his little self now that he has experienced the consequences.
