Pretty good book. Pleasant. It wasn't too angsty, even the scenes where the reader doesn't know how the characters will get out of their predicament.
The book was twice as long as it needed to be. Some of those scenes could have been cut. A lot of the adventuring was just adventuring, not much character building. Which kind of felt boring after a while. But there was still a whole half a book to read after that.
The ultimate resolution was satisfying, but achieved through a series of ridiculously unlikely events which really pulled me out of the story.
