A fast paced read that is rich in detail. I usually read slower paced books but I felt like the characters were well established despite the short length, and the plot line was gritty and unpredictable. I love horror books about the woods, and I read this book in two days- hard to put down!
I did find some of the character flashbacks and backstory descriptions to be repetitive, and they broke focus on an otherwise very gripping narrative. Still very good!

Graphic: Animal death, Blood, and Body horror
Moderate: Miscarriage
Minor: Car accident
