Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas

3.0

This book had a bit of everything - intrigue, crime, romance, sex, chemistry and witty banter and yet there was something lacking in it... It just didn't come together very well. I didn't feel tense when I should have done, I liked both Ross and Sophia and yet I couldn't get into them as a couple...

I would maybe have preferred for this:
Spoiler Sophia goes to Bow Street to take down Ross who imprisoned her brother. Nick reveals himself as John and works with Sophia by using her to infiltrate Bow Street. Sophia though is falling in love slowly with Ross (And not in the first two chapters of the book) and doesn't want to, and THEN she is blackmailed by Gentry. That would have caused more tension than her admitting everything and Ross instantly forgiving her.

A good read but not the best Kleypas that I have read, the fact that it still has three stars is a testament to how good it still was.
