To be honest, I wasn’t expecting the plot twists in this book. At some point, things were quite slow moving & at others, it felt things were moving at exponential speed. I felt that perhaps more time could’ve been invested in Gretchen’s childhood story, but the motives are clear at the end.
In general, I was obsessed with this book and would certainly read more from the author.
Spoiler
I wasn’t expecting Gretchen to ‘come out’ so to speak at the end and spend time with Martha, though I think it was sad this did not come to a proper resolution for her. I must say, I adored Harold & Joan’s love story, as cheesy as it was.In general, I was obsessed with this book and would certainly read more from the author.
