Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
4.0
I remember this book coming out and I had been debating on reading it. I found Book 1 & 2 at my local library sale and decided, 2.00 for two hardcovers? I'll do it. Only out two dollars.
I came away actually enjoying this one. I admit that I may be tad beyond the age for this, but for teen girls? Yeah. I'd read this if I was back in High School. It is Pirates of the Caribbean with a female protag. However, for some reason we cannot seem to have a pirate story without a supernatural angle.
The reason I knock it down a star is that while the love interest thing was cute, it got a bit boring when it was almost the main focus of the book. I was a tad irritated that the plot or the reason why she was trapped on the boat was so strung out.
It did get better at the end when the plot seemed to move into action. I mean, there was action too. There was a hell of a lot of gutting with swords and throat slitting, I mean, when do you ever get that in a book? And done by a female?
If you enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean then you'll enjoy this!
