Pet Sematary by Stephen King

5.0

So. Unbelievably. Freaking. Good.

I'm fully convinced I'm broken. It's extremely difficult to scare me; just ask my husband. I'm not phased by scary movies at all and while I haven't read many scary books, they usually don't phase me either. When I read the introduction to this book, I thought, "This is it! This is the book that will scare the pants off of me." I wasn't scared like maybe I was hoping I would be. Don't get me wrong, this book is ominous and full of dread and it has an extremely bleak ending; but, I wasn't scared. Was I creeped out at times? Sure. Clammy hands at times? You bet. But I definitely won't be going to bed and having nightmares. Now, if I had children, maybe it would be a different story. I'm not really sure though. Regardless, the book is EXCELLENT and I absolutely LOVED every single minute I spent reading it. It's probably one of my favorites out of the books I've read by him. Stephen King is a true talent and I'd still love to spend a day picking his brain.
