This book is marketed as being a bully romance, but it’s more enemies to lovers. Jasper and Blakely are incredibly complex characters. I love how Blakely is somewhat of a Queen B at her high school, but she’s not quite so shallow, and she clearly has layers. Jasper is moving to a rival school in the middle of the school year, and while he’s lashing out a little bit, he’s not quite as much of an a$$ as you would expect from the book’s description. Their love story is gradual and authentic. There are a few (somewhat predictable) twists in the plot to keep things interesting. We’re introduced to Talon, Blakely’s brother, who I can see stars in the Redwood High Rebels spin-off series. I can’t wait to read more by this author!
