I said more than once that this book went in a totally different direction than what I had been expecting, but it probably made the story better than I had though it would be, too. It was a good way to bring all three of them together because, otherwise, I’m not sure how that would have happened in such a solidified way. Also, spoiler that I’m happy to share: the dog survives.
