It wasn't awful, as I'd been led to believe by some of the reviews that I read but I'm not sure that I really understood it all.
The descriptions of the Alaskan scenery, and the true sense of 'wilderness' that I got from the book will stay with me for a long time, I think: perhaps much longer than the story itself.
